Privacy Policy

This policy covers everything at simplyknown.co — the pages you are reading, the TikTok posting tool, and the public topic-request board. It is published by The SimplyKnown Network LLC. The short version: we collect as little as technically possible, and almost nothing durable.
Two parts of the site handle data at all. Everything else is a plain page that stores nothing:
- The TikTok posting tool (/connect/) — sections 1 to 3 below.
- The topic-request board (/topics/) — section 4 below.
1. Data we process
When you connect your TikTok account through TikTok's official login, we receive an access token plus your basic public profile (display name, avatar, and TikTok's opaque account identifier). We use the profile only to show you which account is connected before you send anything.
2. Where your access token lives
Your TikTok access token is sealed inside an encrypted, HttpOnly cookie stored in your own browser. We keep no server-side database of users, tokens, or sessions. The cookie expires automatically (within 12 hours) and is deleted immediately if you press Disconnect.
3. Your videos
Video files you upload are relayed directly to TikTok's Content Posting API during the request and are not stored, copied, or inspected by us. Once the handoff to TikTok completes, we hold nothing.
4. The topic-request board
The board at /topics/ lets anyone suggest a video topic and upvote other people's suggestions. No account and no email are needed. When you post or vote we store:
- Your suggestion — the topic and any detail you type. This is public by design; that is the point of the board.
- An anonymous id in a cookie, so the board can remember what you have already voted on and apply per-person limits. It is not tied to a name, an email or an account.
- A scrambled version of your IP address — a one-way code, never the address itself — used only to stop one person flooding the board.
The board is a separate database from anything else we run. We do not ask for your email and do not send marketing.
To keep bots out, the board uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which is a privacy-focused alternative to a CAPTCHA. It runs a check in your browser and does not track you across other sites.
5. Cookies, analytics, tracking
We set only the cookies needed to make something work: two for the TikTok tool (a short-lived sign-in state cookie and the encrypted session cookie in section 2), and one anonymous id for the topic board. That is all.
No analytics. No advertising. No cross-site tracking. We also load no fonts, scripts or images from third-party services, so simply reading these pages sends your details to nobody.
6. Data sharing
Your video and TikTok token are shared with exactly one party — TikTok — solely to perform the upload you asked for. Nothing from the topic board is shared with anyone. We do not sell, share or transfer personal data.
Two providers process requests on our behalf as part of running the site: Cloudflare (hosting, and the Turnstile bot check) and no one else. Videos we publish on our own channels are made with AI tools, but no visitor data is ever sent to them.
7. Deleting your data
TikTok tool: press Disconnect on the upload page (this also asks TikTok to revoke the token), clear your cookies, or revoke access in TikTok's settings (Settings → Security → Apps and permissions). Because we store nothing server-side, there is nothing further to delete.
Topic board: email us and name the suggestion, and we will remove it and the anonymous id behind it. Clearing your cookies drops the id from your side immediately.
8. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available at this address.
